Tear Palace
Tear Palace
The Wall divided Berlin from 1961 to 1989 into two halves, East and West. At a few border crossings, people can move from one part of the city to the other. The exhibition 'Place of German Division' shows at the historical site how the two German states were founded and how the Berlin Wall was built, how customs and passport controls functioned at the Tear Palace, and how surveillance worked at the Friedrichstrasse border crossing.
With a free guided tour of the exhibition, you will discover the most important topics and historical traces in the former departure hall. 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
