The exhibition 'Everyday Life in the GDR' shows the lives of people in the GDR during the 1970s and 1980s at work, in public, and in private. It demonstrates how the SED regime shaped daily life, how people coped with shortages and limitations, and where they found spaces for freedom. You can take a seat in a pub, in a living room, or at a workbench and learn more about leisure and improvisation, housing construction, or working life in the GDR.

The exhibition is complemented by changing special exhibitions on contemporary history and an attractive event program that includes readings, discussions, family days, and much more.
